At almost 1.6 km, the Malberg tunnel near Bad Ems is the longest road tunnel in Rhineland-Palatinate . It relieves the inner city of Bad Ems as a bypass road Fachbach- Bad Ems. The two-lane tunnel with a lane width of 3.75 m each was built between 2000 and 2006 and is part of the B 260 . The inauguration took place on November 4, 2006, the opening to traffic one day later.
