Malcolm Preserve is an 11  acres (4.5  hectare ) nature reserve near the city of Carlisle in the state of Massachusetts in the United States , administered by The Trustees of Reservations .

Protected area

The comparatively small area, which is managed by the Trustees together with the Carlisle Conservation Foundation , represents the access to the Estabrook Woods , which is much larger with more than 1,200 acres (4.9 km²) , which extends over a 3  mi (4.8  km ) long hiking trail is accessible. The protected area also has a paved path that is 0.5 mi (0.8 km) in length, which is also suitable for wheelchair users.

The site used to be part of a 38-acre (15.4-hectare) farm that grew raspberries , strawberries , apples , plums and pears as well as various vegetables and cut flowers .
