Maldon is a place in the Australian state of Victoria . It is located approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Bendigo and approximately 130 kilometers northwest of Melbourne in the region of the Victorian Goldfields. The place is known for its historic streets, which have been preserved since it was founded in the course of the Victorian gold rush in 1853.
