Malena kiss
Malena Kuss (born August 11, 1940 in Córdoba ) is an Argentine musicologist.
Kuss was active as a pianist and came to the USA at the invitation of György Sándor . She also performed there as a pianist and took composition lessons with Alberto Ginastera in Buenos Aires . From 1964 she studied musicology at UCLA . She became a professor of musicology at the University of North Texas and distinguished herself as an expert in contemporary Latin American music. She published more than a hundred writings. From 1984 to 1988 she worked on the Libraries, History, Diplomacy, and the Performing Arts: Essays in Honor of Carleton Sprague Smith and in 2004 and 2007 the two-volume encyclopedia Música en Latinoamérica y el Caribe was published . Since the death of Barry S. Brooks in 1997, she has been in charge of the project of the UNESCO International Music Council The Universe of Music as his successor . Kuss was vice president of the International Musicological Society .
