Léon Richet

Léon Richet (* 1847 in Solesmes , Nord , † 26. March 1907 in Fontainebleau ) was a French painter of the Barbizon school .

Life

Richet began his career at the Académie de Valencienne, where he was a student of Jules-Joseph and Gustave Boulanger . Later he went to Barbizon School. Théodore Rousseau and Narcisse Virgilio Diaz de la Pena shaped him very much in this phase. De la Pena counted him among his most gifted students. In 1869 Richet first took part in the Paris Salon and exhibited there every year from then on. In 1885 two of his works were auctioned off at the Senay auction in New York. In 1888 he received a medal at the exhibition in the Paris Salon. In 1900 he took part in the Paris World Exhibition .

1906: Landscape Juvisi sur Seine $ 280.
1908: $ 1,350 after the storm .
1909: Sunset $ 570, sold to.
