Malibu Rescue (also Malibu Rescue - The Series ) is an American comedy series based on the idea of Savage Steve Holland and Scott McAboy. The series began with a one-and-a-half-hour film of the same name, which was released on May 13, 2019 on the streaming service Netflix . The first season consists of 8 half-hour episodes and was released on June 3, 2019. The main characters are Ricardo Hurtado , Jackie R. Jacobson, Abby Donnelly, Alkoya Brunson and Breanna Yde .
Netflix has ordered a second film called Malibu Rescue: The Next Wave . Malibu Rescue reached the 8th place of the most watched family series in 2019 on Netflix in Germany. It is seen in part as a family version of the Baywatch series from the 1990s - The Lifeguards of Malibu .

Junior Rescue is a program that involves teenage lifeguards on the famous Malibu Beach in Los Angeles. At the mayor's insistence, participants from outside the city, namely from the “ Valley ”, are also accepted for the first time .
The new team of the "flounders" includes not only the head Dylan but also Tyler, Lizzie, Gina and Eric. The head of the program, Garvin, along with the lifeguard Brody, the head of Tower 1, tries to force the newcomers out of the program.

- Tyler Gossard was initially sent to Malibu Rescue by his stepfather as punishment. But he notices that he likes the work and supports his team from now on
- Dylan is the leader of the Tower 2 team and the first girl in this position. She has little self-confidence at first, but grows into her new role.
- Gina is a tough girl who is already on a swim team.
- Lizzie McGrath is an expert in first aid. Her mother is a doctor and tries to keep her away from all dangers.
- Eric Mitchell has a close relationship with his family. He starts a relationship with Lizzie.
