The lake has an area of 55.71 km² and is at an altitude of 84.2 m. The lake belongs to a group of lakes to which the Roine and Längelmävesi also belong. The Mallasvesi is drained at Valkeakoski to the south of Vanajavesi . It is located in the catchment area of the Kokemypenjoki .
