The lake is located in the catchment area of the Kokemypenjoki and belongs to a chain of lakes consisting of the other lakes Längelmävesi , Vesijärvi , Pälkänevesi and Mallasvesi , which flows off at Valkeakoski into the southern Vanajavesi .
