history

Mallbackens IF was founded in 1942. The sporting figurehead of the club is the women's football department. The first women's team played for several years in Damallsvenskan after she was a founding member of the top division in Swedish women's football in 1988. The first descent at the end of the 1990 season was followed by a resurgence at the end of 1992. In the 1993 and 1995 seasons , the women belonged to the top division, but rose again straight away. After several years in the lower class , the team returned again in the 2001 season , and by the 2006 season the women played first class again. She then went to the southern season of the then double-track second division, from which she was relegated in 2010. As the undisputed front runner who won all the season's games, he managed to get back up and then, with eight points ahead of the women of Östers IF, as the southern season winner, the direct march through to Damallsvenskan. The direct relegation to the second division, now single-tracked as Elitettan , was followed by renewed promotion, after two seasons she was relegated again.

The club plays its home games in the Strandvallen Stadium. The club colors are green and white. The players wear green jerseys and white shorts accordingly.
