Malott (Washington)
Malott is a census-designated place (CDP) in Okanogan County , Washington state ; it is in the Greater Omak Area . At the 2010 United States Census , Malott had 487 residents.
Malott has access to US Route 97 via a bridge . It has a general store, bar and church. The parish is now named after LC Malott, who settled in the area in 1886. The city was founded in 1890 and parceled out in 1909. Originally a rest area with a hotel, most of the city was destroyed by flooding that occurred in 1938 after a dam broke on Loop Loop Creek . Malott was evacuated in July 2014 because the Carlton Complex fires hit the site.
The city of Okanogan is about 13.5 km northeast of Malott.
