biography
Meike Pfister comes from Deisenhausen and starts for SC Krumbach. Her parents are DSV ski instructors and brought her and her two siblings into contact with skiing at an early age. At the age of 15, Pfister switched to the ski boarding school in Oberstdorf . After graduating from high school , she joined the armed forces and became a sports soldier .
At the age of 15 she competed in her first FIS races . In February 2013 she took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival and finished eleven and twelve in giant slalom and slalom. In January 2014, Pfister made her European Cup debut in Spital am Pyhrn's Super-G , and scored points for the first time two years later in the same discipline. At the end of the 2015/16 season, she only had to admit defeat in the German championships in both downhill and giant slalom and was crowned two-time runner-up.
On January 21, 2017, she made her World Cup debut in the Kandahar Downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and finished 36th. At her only Junior World Championship in Åre , she started in all disciplines and achieved a seventh place in the downhill as her best result. In the 2017/18 season she started increasingly in the fast disciplines and won her first World Cup points with ranks 27 and 14 in the two downhill runs from Garmisch. In March she achieved her first point win in this discipline with 19th place in the Super-G in Crans-Montana . In the coming season she was able to classify herself twice in the points. Although she did not meet the qualification criteria of the DSV, she was allowed to take part in the World Championships in Åre, where she finished 22nd and 23rd in downhill and combined. On February 21, 2019, she fell during training for the World Cup downhill in Crans-Montana and dislocated her right shoulder, which ended the season prematurely for her.
