Malta Song for Europe 1999 (abbreviation: MSFE 1999 ) was the Maltese preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 , which took place in Jerusalem ( Israel ) after Dana International had won the Eurovision Song Contest the previous year with her song Diva . The competition was won by Times Three with the song Believe 'n Peace .

A total of 16 entries were selected by an expert jury to take part in the final, which took place on February 20, 1999 in the Mediterranean Conference Center . On February 19 and 20, as in the previous year, the songs were performed exclusively in English . The songs were first presented on February 19. The jury selected the 20 finalists with 100% of the vote, who entered on February 20th to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The artists had the choice of performing their songs in English or Maltese , since both languages are their official language, but they all chose English.

In the final, which took place on February 20, 1999, 16 artists sang for victory in the preliminary round. Ultimately, it was won by Times Three with the song Believe 'n Peace . The points were awarded by 7 jurors, who each had to award points to each song, so that they awarded each value from 1–12 and 14, 16, 18 and 20 once.
