Malte Roeper

Malte Roeper (* 1962 in Bad Schwartau ) is a German author , director , documentary filmmaker, dramaturge and mountaineer.

Life

Roeper grew up in Schleswig-Holstein. He studied history and geography in Freiburg. He lives with his family in Chiemgau .

Rockclimbing

Malte Roeper is one of the most famous (extreme) mountaineers in Germany. In addition to tours in South America, among others, he was also the first German to climb the north face of the Eiger solo.

Roeper is known as a screenwriter and for various works on television and radio. In September 1999, for example, he accompanied the live ascent of the Eiger north face as a co-moderator for SWR . For Bayerischer Rundfunk he works as an author and presenter for the Bergauf-Bergab program .
