Malte W. Wilkes is a German management consultant , speaker, columnist, and book author. He is honorary president of the Federal Association of German Management Consultants .

Wilkes has been an independent management consultant since 1975. He was the founding editor-in-chief, later owner and publisher of the Pharma Marketing Journal from 1976 to 2007. After the sale to the Handelsblatt publishing group , he continued to work there until the publication was discontinued in 2012.

In 1993 Wilkes became Vice President of the BDU. In 1995 he was elected President and served two terms until 1998 in this office. Wilkes carried out changes to the statutes and promoted the positioning of the BDU as a professional and business association. During his time, the BDU opened up to both political and social discussion and strengthened its positions through public appearances at congresses, in panel discussions, TV and radio. On October 9, 1998, Wilkes was made the first honorary president of the BDU for life.

In 1992, Wilkes and Wolfgang KA Disch initiated the AMP Alternative Marketing Prize in Germany, which was awarded for four years and was seen as a critical alternative to the German Marketing Prize , as, from the point of view of the AMP initiators, it preferred backward-looking, established and large companies. Prize winners included a. Michael Jones from the Scott Bader Foundation (founder Ernest Bader ), Konrad Schily , as President of the first independent, private German university, Wolfgang Lohbeck, campaign manager from Greenpeace , Deutsche Shell AG, Ricardo Díez-Hochleitner , President of the Club of Rome, Conrad Wagner, Swiss “inventor” of car sharing.

Since the late 1990s and increasingly in the 2000s, he and Klaus Stange developed the system of customer-centered corporate management into the company's control system and customer centricity . Since that time, he has especially appeared as a speaker on the subject of innovation in companies.
