Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye

Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye (born February 10, 1949 ) is a Senegalese manager and sports official.

Education and professional life

After attending school, Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye studied law in Dakar , Paris and Brussels . In Paris he also attended the CFPB, a special school for banking.

Following his studies, Ndiaye worked for the National Bank for Economic Development in Senegal. He was responsible for the Senegalese embassy in Paris as financial advisor. He also held an advisory role for the General Secretary of OPEC in Vienna . He also advised on economic and financial matters for the then President of Senegal, Abdou Diouf .

Ndiaye then worked for Attijariwafa Bank , a Moroccan credit institution. Ndiaye was the president of the Senegalese branch. He was also chairman of the bank's auditing committee.

Relationship to sport

Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye was an active tennis player for the Sporting Club Tennis of Dakar and the Tennis Club of the University of Dakar .

After his active career, he became President of the Senegalese Tennis Association and the African Tennis Confederation . He worked as a consultant for the former President of the International Tennis Federation , Francesco Ricci Bitti .

Ndiaye was for a short time President of the African Football Association and Vice President of the Senegalese Sailing Association. Ndiaye is the President of the NOK Senegal.

Activities within the IOC

Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye has been a member of the IOC since 2015. He previously worked as a member and advisor on various IOC commissions. Since 2015 he has been a member of the Commissions for Audit and Public Relations and Social Development.

Awards

Ndiaye received the order of the Légion d'honneur for his services . He is also an officer of the Senegalese National Order of the Lion. He was awarded the Order de Isabel la Católica (Spain) and the Ouissam Alaouite (Moroccan Order of Merit).
