The Mamba is a South African , mine-protected transport vehicle with 4 × 4 all-wheel drive . The vehicle is not amphibious . The transport vehicle is manufactured by Land Systems OMC , a subsidiary of BAE Systems .

description

The mine-protected vehicle was specially developed in South Africa for use in heavily mined areas and is used in large numbers by the South African military police . The four-wheeled armored car Mamba is based on the chassis of the Unimog. The occupants sit on the vehicle via the rear door. The vehicle commander has a roof hatch with a machine gun . It is powered by an OM-352 diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz with an output of 123 hp.

In addition to South Africa, the mamba is also used by Canada , Ivory Coast , Estonia ( Maavägi ), Congo , Rwanda , Sweden , the United Kingdom, and the United States .
