Mandana Catharina Knopf (born June 25, 1992 in Cologne ) is a German soccer player . The striker plays for 1. FC Köln .

Career

Knopf began her football career at SC Schwarz-Weiß Köln . She then moved to the youth department at SC Fortuna Köln , for which she played in the regional league for two years from 2008. For the 2010/11 season, Knopf moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where she was initially part of the regional league team. On October 2, 2011, she made her Bundesliga debut in a 2-0 away win against Hamburger SV when she came into the game for Turid Knaak in the 80th minute .

After seven other first division appearances for Leverkusen, Knopf moved to 1. FC Köln in February 2012 in the 2. Bundesliga South , for which she was only eligible to play from the 2012/13 season. In Cologne she became a regular player and scored eight goals in 20 games in her first season. She narrowly missed the first division promotion with the team as second behind TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . After another runner-up in 2013/14 , she was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2014/15 as the undefeated champions of the 2nd Bundesliga South.
