The Mandu Kangri (also Masherbrum Far West ) is a 7127 m high mountain in Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan .
location
It is located in the Masherbrum Mountains in the Karakoram . A notch separates the Mandu Kangri from the 2.32 km east-southeast, 7821 m high Masherbrum . The notch height is 627 m.
Ascent history
The first ascent of Mandu Kangri was made by a 10-person Italian expedition led by Augusto Zanotti in 1988 over the west face. On September 8, A. Zanotti, E. Corbellini, S. Andreola, S. Savadelli, F. Bottani, M. Bottani, B. Scanabesi, A. Carminati and P. Campostrini reached the summit.
Minor peaks
370 m further west is the 7081 m high sub-peak Mandu Kangri West (or Mandu Kangri II ). The Mandu Kangri West has not yet been climbed .
