Manfred Busche

Manfred Busche (born December 3, 1933 in Aschersleben ) is a former German trade fair manager and from 1965 to 1999 held various management positions in the trade fair industry in Berlin .

Life

Manfred Busche attended schools in Magdeburg , Aschersleben and Wolfenbüttel . In 1953 he passed the Abitur at the Gymnasium Große Schule Wolfenbüttel . He then studied at the Philipps University of Marburg and at the Free University of Berlin . In 1958 he graduated with a degree in economics and in February 1962 he obtained his doctorate in economics and social sciences (Dr. rer. Pol.) At the Free University of Berlin on the subject of public funding of German cooperatives before 1914 . From 1962 to 1965 Busche worked as a lecturer at the Goethe Institute in Cairo and as the deputy director of the German Cultural Institute in Cairo .

From 1965 to 1999 Manfred Busche held various management positions in Berlin's trade fair industry. Until 1970 he was an authorized signatory of the Berlin Exhibition Services (ADB), then until 1987 Managing Director of the Ausstellungs-, Messe-, Kongress-GmbH (AMK Berlin). From 1987 to 1999 he was Chairman of the Management Board of AMK Berlin , which has been called Messe Berlin GmbH since 1992 . In 1966 Busche initiated the first International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin. From 1998 to 2001, Busche was chairman of the UFI ( Union des foires internationales , based in Paris).

Busche was also a lecturer in "Marketing and Trade Fairs" from 1990 to 1996 at the Department of Economics at the Free University of Berlin. He has been an honorary professor since 1996 .

Manfred Busche is married to the doctor Helke Busche and has two daughters and two grandsons.
