Manfred Gipper

Manfred Gipper (born May 3, 1956 in Bonn ) is a German painter and collagist.

From 1978 to 1983 he studied at the Art Academy in Münster , and in 1981 he became a master student of Hermann-Josef Kuhna . In 1985 he moved to Berlin. Since 1997 he has been teaching at the FHTW Berlin in the design department. Since 2003 he has also been working on collage series. In 2005 he received a grant from the Cranach Foundation in Wittenberg , 2007–2008 a grant from the Bartels Foundation in Basel, and in 2010 a work grant from the Künstlerhaus Lukas in Klaipėda , Lithuania. 2012 artist in residence in Tallinn (Estonian Artists Association). 2016 residency at The Grand, Ahrenshoop, in collaboration with the Künstlerhaus Lukas. Since 2005 he has been giving courses at the Academy of State Museums in Berlin. Manfred Gipper lives and works in Berlin. He is currently teaching art at the private Kant school.
