Manfred Kustak (born September 3, 1941 ) is a former German soccer player. He played for SC Neubrandenburg in 1964/65 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

In 1953, at the age of twelve, Manfred Kustak began to play organized football for the company sports association Turbine Neubrandenburg. During his long football career, which lasted until the 1980s, he made all structural changes from the BSG Turbine to the sports club, the soccer sports association and the BSG Post Neubrandenburg. With the BSG Turbine, Kustak rose in 1962 from the third-class 2nd GDR League to the 1st GDR League , which was only referred to as the GDR League after the II. League was closed in 1963. During the two seasons in the GDR league up to 1964, in which the Neubrandenburger appeared as a sports club, Kustak was part of the Neubrandenburger's regular team with 50 appearances in 56 point games. In 1964 SC Neubrandenburg was promoted to the league. As a defender, Kustak played 20 of the 26 league games, but then went back to the GDR league with the team. He was active there until 1971, but was only fully operational in the 1966/67 season, now playing for the BSG Post. At the beginning of the season 1967/68 he suffered a broken leg in a cup game, so that he could only be used again in the season 1968/69 in the first team. In the three seasons between 1968 and 1971 he played only 23 of the total of 86 GDR league point games. From 1971 to 1980 Kustak was still active in the third-class district league Neubrandenburg for the 2nd team of the BSG Post Neubrandenburg, for which he then worked as a trainer.
