Manfred Mehl

Manfred Mehl (* 1939 in Schneidemühl , Pomerania ) is a German high school teacher and numismatist .

Manfred Mehl was born in 1939 in Schneidemühl and grew up in Hildesheim . After graduating from high school at Andreanum , he studied Classical Philology and Slavic Studies at the University of Hamburg . From 1964 until his retirement in 2002 he worked as a high school teacher in Hamburg.

He then received his doctorate on a monetary history topic at the University of Leipzig . Mehl is a specialist in medieval German coin history and the author of several catalogs on medieval coin history.

Since 1990 he has been chairman of the Association of Coin Friends in Hamburg eV
