Manfred Pelzer

Manfred Pelzer (born November 30,  1935 ) is a German basketball official .

Life

In the 1950s , the Pelzer basketball trainer from Gevelsberg was a member of the Dortmund club SC Aplerbeck 09 , was a press officer and managing director of the Dortmund basketball club, and at the West German basketball association he was a sports warden and lawyer. At the German Basketball Association (DBB), Pelzer was general secretary from 1983 to 1998, he was DBB game manager, league director of the basketball league and sports director of the 1998 women's world championships in Germany .

In 1985, Pelzer was elected to the admissions committee of the European basketball association FIBA Europe  . In 1989 he was involved in negotiations with the German Basketball Association for the DBB to regulate the resumption of gaming between the FRG and the GDR .

He became an honorary member of the West German Basketball Association, this award also happened in 2003, as did the award of the Golden Badge of Honor by the German Basketball Association.
