Manfred Roth

Manfred Erich Roth (born March 8, 1950 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German director and actor .

Life

Roth appeared on the opera stage in Frankfurt for the first time in 1962; Until 1973 he was seen there in children's roles, later as an extra in around 1000 performances. After graduating from high school, he studied English at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. In 1975 he graduated with a master's degree. From 1976 to 1984 he was a partner in the Klappmaul Theater and since 1984 he has been a freelance director and actor. From 1997 to 2000 he was a professor at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold , after which he received regular teaching assignments there until 2015. He has also received teaching positions from the University of Madison (Wisconsin, USA) since 2000 and from the University of Music in Würzburg since 2012 . From 2000 to 2017 he was in-house director at the Stalburg Theater in Frankfurt.
