Michael Kloss (born October 30, 1959 in Korbach ) is a German author and director .

Life

After studying German in Frankfurt am Main , he initially took to the stage in small roles and worked as an assistant director for various productions.

From 1985 to 2005 he was a partner in the legendary Klappmaul Theater , for which he wrote and staged a number of plays. He has also directed numerous children's and youth theater productions (including Unterhaus Mainz , Theaterhaus Frankfurt, Hessisches Landestheater Marburg ) and staged works for drama, music theater and opera on various stages (including Frankfurt Opera , Lucerne Theater , Carinthian Summer ); Cooperation and a. with Manfred Roth , Harald Weiss , Sylvain Cambreling , Peter Mussbach , Gerhard Schedl , Veit Volkert.

In collaboration with the film and television director Peter Schönhofer , the television series "Computer für Kids" (1995–1996), the film adaptation of the Sofa Trilogy (2005), the road movie " Rolando Villazón : My Mexico" (2010) and theater and opera recordings were created for ZDFtheaterkanal , 3sat and ARTE .

Also together with Peter Schönhofer, in 2013 he developed a new type of control system (Live2Edit) for multi-camera productions, which makes it possible to create an immediately editable multicam sequence of the live cut for a non-linear editing system immediately after the recording of a live event.

Since 1991 permanent member of the advisory board of the Hannchen multi-purpose foundation .

Private life

In 2017 he married Harry Kallinen, with whom he had had a registered civil partnership since 2001.
