Manfred Sybertz

Manfred Sybertz (born January 31, 1930 in Übach ; † October 26, 2009 in Würselen ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Sybertz attended elementary school and then worked in a mine from 1945 to 1962. During this time he attended a mountain pre-school from 1949 to 1951 and the mountain school in Aachen from 1951 to 1953. From 1962 until 1969 he was the head of department for employee issues at the regional mining office in Bonn. After that he was still active in the field of co-determination, finally from 1970 to 1985 he was operations director for personnel and social issues at the EBV (Eschweiler Bergwerk-Verein) of the Anna mine in Alsdorf, later of the Emil-Mayrisch network including the coking plant.

Sybertz joined the SPD in 1964 and in 1972 became chairman of the SPD city association in Übach-Palenberg. There he was also a member of the city council, where he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. He belonged to the district council and in 1969 became deputy district administrator. From 1972 to 1982 he was mayor of the city of Übach-Palenberg .

Sybertz was elected to the German Bundestag in the 1976 general election, to which he belonged for an electoral term until 1980. He was drawn into parliament via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia . Sybertz was a full member of the Committee for Labor and Social Affairs.
