Manfred Wagner (draftsman)

Manfred Wagner (born April 11, 1934 in Zettlitz ) is a German draftsman, architect and university lecturer.

Life

Manfred Wagner was born in the municipality of Zettlitz, located between Rochlitz and Geringswalde in the Free State of Saxony . He grew up in the historic valley of the Zwickauer Mulde . After attending school, he first completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer. He later studied architecture at the Technical University in Dresden , where he was also taught spatial foresight as well as drawing and painting.

After graduating, Manfred Wagner received an assistant position at the Technical University of Dresden , where he worked in the areas of free-hand drawing and in the following years also in design theory and in the preservation of monuments. In addition, he worked as an architect on the renovation of several buildings in Dresden and the surrounding area, such as the Kügelgenhaus .

In 1992 he received the professorship for the basics of design at the Technical University of Dresden, which he held until his retirement in 1999.

He is best known for his spatial architectural drawings and city views from Saxony. From 1982 onwards, many of them were published at regular intervals in the Saxon homeland papers.
