The Mwenezi (in the upper reaches of Manisi ) is a 400 km long river in Zimbabwe .

course

The river has its source halfway between Esigodini and Zvishavane in the province of South Matabeleland . It flows southeast towards Rutenga and Mbizi in Masvingo Province . From there on over the border with Mozambique , behind which it flows into the Limpopo .

landscape

The river crosses a semi-arid area with grass, bush and loose tree land, in which mainly cattle is raised. The river rarely carries water in the dry season. In its lower parts after Mbizi it reaches a level and almost deserted area, which consists only of animal protection areas on all sides of the border.
