Manny Ward (* 1968 in New York ) is a DJ , remixer and music producer.

DJ

In 1985 he started his career as a DJ in the NCO Club on an Air Force basis. After leaving the American Air Force in 1990, he returned home to New York and took some time to find his way back into the New York house music scene.

Soon after, he opened the evenings for DJs David Morales , Shep Pettibone and Frankie Knuckles , which brought him notoriety. Inspired by the music that Junior Vasquez , Frankie Knuckles and Timmy Regisford played, he decided to hang out full-time.

In 1991 his friend and mentor Frankie Knuckles (The Godfather of House) adopted him as a protégé. David Morales and Danny Tenaglia followed as mentors.

Between 1992 and 1996 he opened the Sound Factory Bar on Fridays and was responsible for the music in the "Deep Room". At the height of his career, in the mid-1990s, he disappeared from the limelight and lived a very secluded life. Obviously he has produced a lot of songs in the meantime, as he now regularly presents new, previously unreleased tracks on his Myspace profile.

Ward came to Montreal at the invitation of David Morales . Following another invitation from Morales, he took his place at the top of the New York house scene and now plays side by side with the likes of Angel Moraes , Lord G and Danny Tenaglia .

producer

Ward is best known for his early work on the New York label Eightball Records . Kevin Williams, then A&R at Eightball, threw Ward into the studio with the words, "You're remixing this record for me". So he made his first remix with the sound engineer Konrad Correlli . The result "Sister, Sister" by Al Mack featuring Vanessa Evelyn was a great success.

Other releases and remixes for Joi Cardwell , Junior Vasquez , Barton and others followed. The Barton song "To Call My Own" reached number 15 on the Billboard "Dance Club Play Charts " in 2006 and number 1 on the OUTQ charts on Sirius Radio (US cable radio station).
