Manoel José Duarte
Manoel (Manuel) José Duarte (born April 6, 1858 in Maceió , Alagoas , † June 11, 1914 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian politician who was, among other things, Governor of Alagoas and a member of the Senate .
Life
Manoel José Duarte studied humanities at Colégio Pinheiro and studied medicine at the Medical Faculty of the Universidade do Rio de Janeiro . He worked as a doctor and university lecturer. In 1891 he was briefly a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alagoas . On June 12, 1897, he became governor of Alagoas and held that office for two years until June 12, 1899.
1900 Duarte was first a member of the Federal Senate (Senado Federal) , where he remained until 1908th
