Manuel Berenguer

Manuel Berenguer (born April 25, 1913 in Alicante , † December 20, 1999 in Spain ) was a Spanish cameraman .

Life

Manuel Berenguer, who was already interested in photography as a schoolboy, completed an apprenticeship in a film laboratory in Germany. Back in his home country he worked as a cameraman on documentaries, for example on the Spanish Civil War . From 1940 he worked as chief cameraman. In addition to the photography of numerous melodramas, as head of the second unit cameras, he was also involved in international large-scale productions filmed in Spain such as 55 Days in Beijing . After his departure as a cameraman, Berenguer, whose son Andrés Berenguer also works as a cameraman, was still involved in the film business as a lender of film cameras and material.
