Manuel Cañibe

Manuel Cañibe (born February 9, 1930 in Mexico City ) is a former Mexican soccer player who played predominantly in midfield .

career

Cañibe was trained in the youth division of Club America , for whose first team he made his debut in the top Mexican league in the 1948/49 season . In the seasons 1953/54 and 1954/55 he won the cup competition with the Americanistas . While he did not participate in the final of the first triumph, he was not only there in the second final on March 6, 1955, but also scored the golden goal for the 1-0 victory against arch rivals Chivas Guadalajara . He also won the Supercup with America in 1955 . In the 1955/56 season Cañibe was also still under contract with America.
