Manuel Ernesto Malbrán (* 1876 in Córdoba , † 1942 in Rome ) was an Argentine diplomat .

Life

Manuel Ernesto Malbrán married María Luisa de la Lastra. Her children were Manuel Malbrán de la Lastra (born September 22, 1912 in Washington, DC , † July 18, 2005 ), María Celia Beatriz Malbrán de la Lastra and María Angélica Malbrán de la Lastra. Manuel Ernesto Malbrán joined the foreign service in 1909 and became chargé d'affaires in Lisbon. In 1910 he became chargé d'affaires in Washington, DC , where his son Manuel Malbrán de la Lastra was born.

On July 29, 1913, Roque Sáenz Peña appointed him Envoy Extraordinary and Ministre plénipotentiaire in Bogota. From 1922 to 1928 he was ambassador to Santiago de Chile . From 1928 to 1931 he was Ambassador to Washington, DC From 1931 to 1938 he was Ambassador to the Court of St James’s . On February 7, 1933, during his tenure as ambassador in London, the Pacto Roca-Runciman, which regulated the import of Argentine beef, was concluded. From September 6, 1938, he was ambassador to Rome. During his tenure as ambassador in Rome, he reports on the persecution of Jews.
