Manuel Tejada (musician)

Manuel Tejada (born November 26, 1957 in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican composer and arranger.

Tejada had lessons at the Escuela Elemental de Música with Caridad Cabral and attended courses in harmony, composition, music education, orchestration and piano at the Conservatorio Nacional . His first compositions were written in the late 1970s. He became known with the song Juventud .

As an arranger and orchestrator, Tejada has worked for singers such as Omar Franco , Olga Lara , Jackeline Estévez , Taty Salas , Vickiana , Niní Cáffaro , Anthony Ríos and various musical groups. At XXVII. Festival Internacional de la Canción in Viña de Mar, he won first prize with the song Para quererte, based on a text by José Antonio Rodríguez and sung by Maridalia Hernández .
