Manuela Pietraß

Manuela Pietraß is a German educational scientist and professor of educational science with a focus on media education at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich . She has been President of the Faculty Day of Education since 2019 .

Life

She studied communication science , psychology and education at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . After her doctorate in education as a Dr. phil., which was funded with a scholarship from the university, she was a research assistant and senior assistant at the Institute for Education (Chair Rudolf Tippelt ) at the Faculty of Psychology and Education in Munich. She completed her habilitation there and received a Venia legendi for pedagogy.

She taught as a visiting professor for communication science and media education at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . From 2009 to 2010 she taught as a professor for media education at the PH Freiburg . Since 2010 she has held the professorship for educational science with a focus on media education at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich .

From 2016 to 2018 she was chair of the media pedagogy section of the German Society for Educational Science and co-editor of the journal MedienPädagogik. Since 2011 she has been a board member of the JFF - Institute for Media Education in Research and Practice Munich. From 2010 to 2018 she was Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich. She has been Deputy Senate Chairwoman of UnibwM since 2018. In May 2019 she was elected President of the Faculty Conference for Education .
