Manuela Stacke

Manuela Stacke (* 1970 in Heidelberg ) is a German author and up-and-coming director.

From 1991 to 1995, Stacke studied theater, film and media studies as well as art education in Erlangen and Frankfurt am Main. In 1996 she began studying documentary film and television journalism at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF), directed a few short films and worked as an assistant director at the Berliner Ensemble for George Tabori , Rolf Krieg and Peter Zadek . After Stacke had already made several documentaries on children's and youth issues, she made her cinema debut with Mondscheinkinder , her graduation film at the HFF Munich , at the end of December 2006 . The film about a little boy who suffers from the rare moonlight disease has won several awards, including the audience award at the Max Ophüls Festival 2006 and the 9,000 euro main prize “ Goldener Spatz ” at the 15th Children's Film & TV Festival in Gera.
