The Many Glaciers Pond (loosely translated: Many Glacier Pond ) is a 500 m long pool , which is located about 800 m south of the lower end of the Commonwealth Glacier in the Taylor Valley of the East Antarctic Victoria Land. It belongs to the Aiken Creek system and is fed , among other things, by the meltwater of the Commonwealth Glacier and the Wales Glacier .
It was given its descriptive name at the suggestion of the American hydrologist Diane Marie McKnight, head of the team of the United States Geological Survey , which examined the river system of Lake Fryxell in the Taylor Valley between 1987 and 1994 .
