The Mapo Harbor is a side bay of the Marian Cove of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is east of the North Spit on the south side of the Weaver Peninsula .
South Korean scientists named it in 2012 after the Mapo-gu harbor district on the Hangang in South Korea's capital Seoul .
