María Isabel López Rodríguez (born January 4, 1995 in Ayamonte ) is a Spanish singer and winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2004 .

Life

In 2004 she took part in the national competition with the song Antes Muerta que Sencilla (dt. Better dead than usual ), prevailed against her competitors and represented Spain in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest . There she clearly achieved first place ahead of Great Britain with 171 points and to date has scored the most points in the history of the contest. The song went into the charts in all countries, u. a. also in Germany and the United States , where she then went on tour . Her first studio album No Me Toques Las Palmas Que Me Conozco reached number 1 on the Spanish album charts and was a great success with 500,000 copies sold.

Isabel released her second album, Número 2 , at the end of 2005. The album climbed to number 7, but could not quite build on the success of the previous record. So did her third album, Capricornio , which was released at the end of 2006 and also reached number 7.

In November 2007 her last album Ángeles SA was released. It reached number 7 in the Spanish album charts, but was the lowest-selling album with 180,000 records sold.

She took part with the song La vida solo es una in the Spanish preliminary decision Objetivo Eurovisión for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm , which took place on February 1st.
