Marburger Neue Zeitung

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Marburger Neue Zeitung (MNZ) was a local edition founded in 1997 by the Lahn-Dill newspaper group from Wetzlar . On October 1, 2010, the newspaper group discontinued the MNZ.

First published as a pure header of the Hinterländer Anzeiger ( Altkreis Biedenkopf ), the MNZ finally had its own local section, the coat was delivered from Wetzlar. In addition to the editorial office in Marburg, there was also an editorial office in Stadtallendorf , which reported from the east of the Marburg-Biedenkopf district . The edition together with the Hinterländer Anzeiger was most recently at 13,252 copies, the edition of the MNZ alone, however, only a little over 2000 pieces.

In 2008 the German Press Council reprimanded the newspaper non-publicly for violating the press code . She had used the headline of an earlier report in a collage that alleged allegations against a home for the disabled. Investigations by the prosecutor had been closed. No exonerating information was given in the collage. The press council saw this as a violation of journalistic due diligence.
