Marc Henry Bonilla (born July 3, 1955 in Contra Costa County , California ) is an American guitarist , musician and composer .

Since the 1980s, Bonilla and Joe Satriani have been one of the most important guitar teachers in the San Francisco Bay Area . In the late 1980s Bonilla moved to Los Angeles , where he worked as a teacher at the GIT (Guitar Institute of Technology), but also created TV and film soundtracks and even had a role in the TV series Nightman . He has worked repeatedly with Keith Emerson , Glenn Hughes , David Coverdale and Kevin Gilbert since 1995 . He is also on the Emerson, Lake & Palmer tribute album Encores .

In addition, he published solo albums. Bonilla currently plays with the California Transit Authority.
