Marc Leuenberger (* 24. July 1962 in Saint-Imier ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player , - coach of -funktionär and, for EHC Biel and Friborg-Gottéron in the Swiss National League A played. As a trainer he also looked after the EHC Biel and the HC Ajoie . He is currently working as a consultant for the television station Télévision Suisse Romande .

Career

Marc Leuenberger began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown, where he was active in the youth division of HC Saint-Imier-Sonceboz until 1980. The attacker then moved to HC La Chaux-de-Fonds from the National League B for two years . He then played for a year for HC Ambrì-Piotta in the National League A , as well as another eight seasons for their league rivals EHC Biel . During his last stint as a player, the Swiss was runner -up three times in a row with Friborg-Gottéron between 1992 and 1994 . In 1996 he ended his active career there.

After the end of his career, Leuenberger took over the position of sports director at Friborg-Gottéron, which he held until December 1999. He then coached the A-Juniors of his ex-club EHC Biel until 2003, before becoming head coach of a professional team for the first time in the 2003/04 season when he received a contract with HC Ajoie from the NLB. He then withdrew from ice hockey and became a consultant for the television station Télévision Suisse Romande .

International

For Switzerland Leuenberger took part in the B World Championships in 1989 in Lillehammer and in 1990 in Megève . He also played at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary .
