Marc Martel (born November 16, 1976 in Montreal ) is a Canadian singer, guitarist and pianist.

biography

Martel grew up in the Province of Quebec and later attended Briercrest College in Saskatchewan . There he founded the band Downhere with some friends in 1999 , with whom he toured for more than ten years and recorded several albums in the 2000s.

In 2011, he recorded a cover version of Queen's classic Somebody To Love , which garnered over 30 million views online in a short period of time, and did over 160 shows over the next six years with the cover show The Queen Extravaganza . With the in-house production The Ultimate Queen Celebration , Martel toured worldwide from 2017, but also worked with the Philharmonic Orchestra of México and released solo albums.

He became known worldwide through the film Bohemian Rhapsody , which was awarded a Golden Globe in 2019 , in which he lent his voice to Rami Malek for some songs .
