Marc Pierschel

Marc Pierschel (* 1978 in Hildesheim ) is a German vegan activist and documentary filmmaker . He also self- published two cookbooks .

Life

Marc Pierschel has been a vegan since 2000 and was a vegetarian for a few years before that . While still a student of Sociology at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster , which he completed by 2004, he founded in 2002 the collective roots of compassion in his self-published compassion media publishing the cookbook was published in 2008 Vegan yummy yummy! .

In 2009 Pierschel made his first documentary EDGE - Perspectives on drug free culture about the straight edge movement .

His documentary Live And Let Live on people who had been found to veganism, ran in 2013 on a number of film festivals , for example in the Milano Film Festival in Milan and in the days of independent film in Augsburg. In 2016 he made the documentary 184 about a two-week campaign against commercial whaling in Iceland.

In September 2017, Pierschel's documentary The End of Meat , which premiered at the Five Lakes Film Festival in the summer , was released in cinemas, The End of Meat is intended to show the benefits of a vegan world without meat consumption . His film Butenland for which he a married couple on a sanctuary for dairy cows filmed two years, won the Hof International Film Festival in 2019 the granite - Hofer Documentary Award and was also shown at the cinema.
