Marc Schefer (born March 14, 1981 in Flawil ) is a former Swiss ice hockey defender who last played in the Swiss National League B at SC Langenthal .

Career

Marc Schefer began his career as a teenager at EHC Uzwil before playing his first professional game for the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the National League A in the 1998/99 season . Schefer soon established himself as a regular with the Lakers and was mainly noticed by his defensive game, while he made little accents on the offensive. His team played mainly against relegation in the following years, even had to go into the play-outs twice, but were able to secure relegation each time. In 2005/06 the Lakers were able to achieve their first success when they finished fourth in the regular season and moved into the playoffs to the semifinals. In the next two seasons, Schefer qualified for the finals with Rapperswil-Jona, but they did not get beyond the first playoff series.

The 2009/10 season spent Schefer when EV train in the NLA. From the 2010/11 season he played for SC Langenthal in the National League B . In 2015 he ended his active career.

International

For Switzerland , Schefer took part in the U18 Junior World Cup in 1999 , where they managed to place fourth ahead of the Czech Republic and Russia .
