Marcel Šimurda (born December 1, 1980 in Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak ice hockey player who spent his professional career mainly at HC Košice in the Slovakian extra league.

Career

Marcel Šimurda began his career as a hockey player in the youth of HC Košice , where he was active until 2001. During this period he made his debut in professional ice hockey in the 1999/2000 season, when he was on the ice in five games for the second division club HC VTJ MEZ Michalovce . In the following season, the attacker played parallel for Košice in the extra league and Michalovce in the second-class 1st division. After a year in which Šimurda paused with ice hockey, he was in the 2002/03 season for MHC Martin in the Extraliga on the ice. The left shooter then returned to his ex-club HC Košice, with whom he initially failed in the final of the Slovak Championship at HC Slovan Bratislava in the 2007/08 season . A year later, in the 2008/09 season, he was the first Slovak champion with his team. He also began the following season at HC Košice before the attacker was committed by HKm Zvolen during the season . After four games for Zvolen, the Slovak decided to end his career in November 2010.
