Marcel Barbeau
Christian Marcel Barbeau (born February 18, 1925 in Montreal , † January 2, 2016 ) was a Canadian painter and sculptor.
Barbeau studied at the École du Meuble of the Montreal Art College and worked with Paul-Émile Borduas , Marcel Parizeau and Maurice Gagnon , among others . He lived between 1958 and 1974 and between 1991 and 1996 in Paris, Vancouver, New York and in Southern California. His works are assigned to American abstract expressionism and are represented in renowned exhibitions around the world.
