Marcel Benger (born July 2, 1998 in Krefeld ) is a German soccer player .

Career

Benger began his career in the youth team at SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen , where he stayed until 2011 and then moved to the youth team at MSV Duisburg . He then moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach's youth team in 2014, for whom he played in both the B-Junior Bundesliga West, the A-Junior Bundesliga West and the UEFA Youth League . In 2017 he moved up to the senior division and has since played in the Regionalliga West for the second team of Borussia. On December 15, 2017, he made his debut for the first team when he was substituted on for Reece Oxford by coach Dieter Hecking in the 89th minute of the home game against Hamburger SV .
