Marcel Duhamel (born July 16, 1900 in Paris , † March 6, 1977 in Saint-Laurent-du-Var , Alpes-Maritimes department ) was a French actor and author . After the Second World War he founded the Série noire ("Black Series") at Gallimard , a series of detective novels of American origin. At times he belonged to the surrealist movement and the avant-garde group “le grand jeu”.
