Marcel Peeters

Cornelius Marcel Peeters , pseudonym Peter Laine (born September 18, 1926 in Antwerp ) is a Belgian composer, conductor and clarinetist.

Life

From 1945 to 1947 Peeters studied at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. He then took private lessons with Karel De Schrijver . During his military service he was recruited to entertain the soldiers. He conducted the orchestra and gained experience there with big bands and light music . He then toured Europe and North Africa with various bands. In 1958 he played in the entertainment orchestra of the Swiss Radio Entertainment Orchestra Beromünster .

In the 1960s he worked as a pop composer. He accompanied the singers Fred Bertelmann , Caterina Valente and Peter Alexander with his own orchestra . He played for one year in the Max Greger orchestra in Munich in the 1970s , and arranged the recordings of Plácido Domingo with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1976.

In 1982 he became a member of the Dutch radio orchestra Metropole Orkest .
